1. Dorothy Compton worked as a nurse at Dongsan Christian Hospital

Dorothy Compton visited Korea with his daughter as a missionary for the World Vision under the support of the Carmel Presbyterian Church in California. She worked as a nurse at Dongsan Christian Hospital. Professor Lee Young-Ja, then head of the nursing school's affairs department, said that Compton was a very dedicated person, worked in a children's ward, went to Andong or other areas for medical missionary service, and received relief supplies from the U.S. to hospitals and orphanages.

She served as a child care director overseeing the child care status of orphaned children belonging to the U.S. World Vision. Therefore, the management of relief supplies was thoroughly managed, and when someone tried to steal something, they were very strictly treated and managed.

If the hospital didn't have money to pay for the patient's treatment and return home, she would pick her up in her car and drive her to the patient's rural home. That's how much she cared, loved and devoted to her patients.
