Elizabeth Callahan visited Korea as a sponsor of the First Presbyterian Church in Portland and a missionary to dispatch the Northern Presbyterian U.S.A. She worked at Dongsan Christian Hospital for a short period of time and was the first occupational therapist to set up and operate an occupational therapy room. Hospital director Howard Moffett was in charge of management while on vacation.
