1. Marie Anne Melrose worked as a teacher at Dongsan Christian Hospital's nursing school

Marie Anne Melrose, who was called Wang Ma-ryeo, studied education at Western Washington University and Christian education at Princeton Theological Seminary. My grandparents were long in charge of missionary work in China, and Melrose's parents were also missionaries. Influenced by these grandparents and parents, she was also interested in missionary work and devoted herself as a missionary at the calling of God.

In September 1959, she visited Korea as a missionary for the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A, and since 1963, she has mainly been in charge of missionary work in Daegu, and taught English to nursing school students at Dongsan Christian Hospital.

In addition, students were taught at Keimyung University, Yeongnam Theological University, Gyeseong Elementary School, and Bible Club, and Christian education was taught at Presbyterian Theological University from 1977 to 1988.

Melrose became a great driving force in the development of church education by publishing "Teacher Monthly Report" and teaching and strengthening educational practice centered on activities. From the January issue of 1981, the Presbyterian Church of Korea Christian Education Research Institute published it as Education Church, and the Yeongnam Theological University Christian Education Research Institute led the church's Sunday school ministry under the name Gospel and Education. Later students who learned from Melrose call her the pioneer of Christian education in Korea.
