Dorothy Clawson was born in the United States in 1920. She graduated from the University of Connecticut and the University of California.
In 1927, she worked in China as a missionary for the Northern Presbyterian U.S.A, and arrived in Daegu in May 1953. She served as a nurse at Dongsan Christian Hospital in Daegu for four years, educated nursing students and nurses, and served as an advisor to Yoo Soon-ae, the principal of the high nursing school.
She resigned as a missionary in 1956 and returned one’s country.
